| This aircraft can hover by vectoring its exhaust and stay in place with the nose up. I have video of this but am unable at this time to covert it to an AVI format and upload it to YOUTUBE. This last picture is this series is a picture of this aircraft doing this with its thrust vectoring. It is far more impressive to see this aircraft actually do this in real life. The picture dose not do this aircraft the justice that it deserves. There were 4 F-22 that took off from Hill AFB and then flew by in formations a few times and then went and hovered in the area just outside of eyesight. I guess they were about 20 miles out. I personally think they were hovering over the Utah Test and Training Range witch is just west of Hill AFB. | |||
| There are a number of aircraft that can fly in the same manner as the F-22 but are not in full production, such as the X-31. I am also aware that both the F-16 , F-15 and the F-18 have had thrust vectoring put on them. The first of these thrust vectoring aircraft is the AV-8 Harrier, but it can not go supersonic. The aeronautics industry is finally making this technology to VSTOL and also be able to go supersonic. The Boeing X-32 and the Lockheed Martin X-35 projects have accomplished this and which is becoming the Joint Strike Fighter. | |||
